how to express an interest
boost your Facilities
Intending to improve your facilities? Want to upgrade a 3G football turf pitch, changing rooms, clubhouse, grass pitch or indoor/outdoor spaces? Please contact our Football Development Manager so we can provide advice and guidance before you apply for funding.
Following this, you may be asked to complete an Expression of Interest Form, which can be found via the link below. Please note if you have already started work on your project (for example, building/construction has already begun), then it is unlikely your project will be eligible for funding.
funding for many purposes
we can advise you
There are a variety of funding pots relating to different locations and areas of football. Examples of items which could qualify for funding are new teams, kit and equipment, defibrillators, facilities and ground improvements.
Before researching the funding options available to you and your club, we recommend speaking to us first so we can advise you on the best way to approach putting together an application. Please get in touch with your local Football Development Officer for an informal discussion.
time to get creative!
small grants scheme
The Essex County FA Small Grants Scheme supports clubs having difficulty securing funding for capital projects and applications and ideas can be submitted at any time.
There are two deadline dates for 'Expressions of Interest' – 30th January (assessment of applications in February) and 30th June (assessment in July). Projects funded in previous windows have included defibrillators, clubhouse renovations and pitch improvement works. Clubs should steer clear of general running costs and are advised to be creative.
how to successfully apply
small grants bids
In order to apply for money through the scheme, clubs will firstly need to complete an Expression of Interest Form. Our Small Grants Scheme Panel meet to discuss the merits of all EOIs, which will lead to full applications being requested upon invitation from those which are successful.
Decisions can be expected within two weeks of each EOI window closing. Successful submissions will be asked to submit a full application within four weeks. Applicants will initially be expected to provide details of the proposed positive outcomes of any potential funding, how it will be undertaken and who by, the budgets allocated and details of any additional money which can be dedicated to the project. Fill in the form below to apply.
