League IT Grants

Financial Help from The FA for New Technology

The FA has reintroduced IT grants for FA-affiliated leagues throughout the 2018/19 season. Leagues who are using either FA Full-Time or the FA Whole Game System Player Registration are eligible for up to £1,500, to be claimed against the purchase of new IT equipment.

Since the introduction of the Whole Game System, a significant amount of league administration is now online. Over 55% of grassroots football now uses online player registration, along with the launch of the new Matchday app, increasing the requirement for leagues to be online. Therefore, leagues can secure funding against the purchase of equipment such as:

* computer, laptop or tablet
* monitor, mouse and keyboard
* printer, ID card printer
* multi-function device (all-in-one printer, scanner, photocopier)
* laminator
* telephone
* software
* external hard drive
* digital camera

In order for the league to secure funding, it must meet the criteria which can be found within the policy below. The amount of funding available is dependent on the size of the league, with a minimum bursary of £360 and a maximum of £1,500.

Applications are now submitted online and can be accessed by clicking here. A completed application must contain an attached copy of the receipts of purchase, which will be approved by your local County FA, then processed by The FA for payment.

If you have any questions regarding League IT Grants, contact your local Football Development Officer. If you are not currently using FA Full-Time or Whole Game System Player Registration and would like to find out more, please contact The FA Technology Adoption Team at
