We’re delighted to have announced the county winners of the England Football Grassroots Football Awards 2022/23!

This season, there were 11 categories, including ones that were totally new for this year. The Essex Award Winners will now be put forward for the National England Football Grassroots Awards.

Across our social media pages throughout the week, we have announced the winners from the Essex County FA Grassroots Football Awards via videos.

The videos are from a variety of people involved in football in numerous ways and we’d like to thank them for taking the time to help announce this season’s winners!

Coach of the Year - Female Pathway: Catherine Perry Jones (Little Canfield)

Highly Commended – Mark Gordon (FC Redwing)

Coach of the Year – Disability Pathway: Sonny Marra (Hashtag Inclusive United)

Coach of the Year – Male Pathway: Scott Crosby (Little Thurrock Dynamos U10s)

Grassroots Club of the Year: Witham Town FC Soccability

Highly Commended – Tigers JFC

Grassroots League of the Year: Blackwater & Dengie Youth League

New Volunteer of the Year: Laura Ingram (Great Notley FC)

Young Volunteer of the Year: Ria Lee (Ridgeway Rovers YFC)

Highly Commended – Elizabeth (Witham Town FC Soccability), Jack (Maldon Saints YFC)

Grounds Team of the Year: Paul Littleton (Harold Wood Cougars)

Highly Commended – Ray Beaumont (Dagenham United)

The Lioness Award: Frenford & MSA

Highly Commended – Jackie Wood (Walking Football League)

Positive Environment Award: Autistic FC

Highly Commended – Billericay Town Soccability, Tristian Edwards (Rowhedge Juniors)

Lana Gillard, Essex County FA Volunteer Lead, was keen to congratulate this season’s winners, and thank the panel that helped to choose them including Active Essex, London Sport, The Jack Petchey Foundation, Essex IAG, Youth Forum and coach educators.
