Billericay Town & Clacton Rhinos Women's Walking Football Teams

Essex FA took the opportunity to find out more about from two players that have joined the teams this season when we visited a recent friendly fixture at Billericay Town FC where over 25 players were taking part.

Have you played before: Yes I started playing when I was younger.

What inspired you to start playing walking football: I saw the walking football session advertised and was excited to have the opportunity to play again.

What was your first session like: I was surprised how much of a workout the session was – it was great to be so active.

What would you say to someone looking to take part in walking football: Just get involved, its great fun and fantastic socially too!

Have you played before: No, I am new to the game.

What inspired you to start playing walking football: I wanted to play when I was younger but the opportunity wasn’t available. I found out about this session through a friend who used to play football.

What was your first session like: It was really welcoming, friendly and encouraging and for all abilities.

What would you say to someone looking to take part in walking football: Come along and give it a go, you are really well supported by the other players.
