Senior and Women's Cup Finals

U’s to Host Two More Essex County Cup Finals in 2024

Dates Set for Senior and Women’s Cup Showpiece Events

Colchester United FC’s JobServe Community Stadium has been confirmed as the venue for both the 2023/24 BBC Essex Senior Cup and BBC Essex Women’s Cup Finals.

The Senior Cup Final will take place at the English Football League Two club’s all-seater stadium on Tuesday 19th March. And, after the record-breaking success of last season's Women’s Cup Final, the venue will host the showpiece match for a second time on Thursday 11th April. Both games are scheduled for 7:45pm kick-offs.

The North Essex stadium has played host to the Senior Cup Final since 2017, and last season’s match between Braintree Town and Concord Rangers attracted a crowd of 2,428. The 2023 Women’s Cup Final was also attended by over 2,000 fans who saw Billericay Town overcome Hashtag United Reserves, 1-0. The well-received event gave fans the opportunity to see the Women’s Euro Trophy, won by the Lionesses in the summer of 2022.

We're looking to continue the increase in female football participation and Chief Executive, Brendan Walshe, is delighted both finals will be hosted at the Community Stadium. He explained: “After the success of the Women’s Cup and Senior Cup Finals last year, we’re excited that we can, once again, put on these prestigious events at Colchester United FC.”

“The Lionesses had the entire country gripped again earlier in the year when their World Cup campaign inspired another generation, continuing the fantastic growth of the female game. Last season’s Senior Cup Final was another successful event. We have an excellent relationship with Colchester United and have undertaken joint project work with them. These finals are always special and exciting, and we look forward to two more big occasions for all involved in 2024.”

Venues for the remaining County Cup finals, which will take place between February and May, will be announced at a later date.
