We are currently advertising vacancies for two positions in our Development Team. We’re looking for a Football Development Officer to help develop projects which support clubs, leagues, volunteers, and wider partners across our five London Boroughs, as well as a Coaching Development Officer to lead and manage the delivery of our Coach Development Programme.

The successful candidate for the Football Development Officer role will look to enhance grassroots football provision, with a specific focus on the local authority areas of Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, Newham and Waltham Forest. They will also be responsible for the strategic oversight of the male player pathway. This is not a coaching role.

The successful candidate for the Coaching Development Officer role will lead on the delivery of the Coach Development Programme to enhance the current network of coaches in Essex, as well as the support for new and potential coaches in the area. They will also work closely with the wider Football Development Team to increase the levels of qualified coaches working with affiliated teams in Essex.

Both roles require a good knowledge of grassroots football and the structures that exist within it. We expect candidates will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have a good understanding of The FA’s National Game Strategy and Essex FA’s 2024 Moving Forward Strategy. An ability to manage a diverse work programme and multiple priorities is also a requirement, as well as good communication and project-planning skills.
