Essex County FA Football Development Vacancies

Opportunities to Enhance Local Grassroots Football

A pair of positions have become available within our Football Development Team, namely ‘Facilities & Investment Officer’ and ‘Football Development Officer’ vacancies, with applications welcome until Wednesday 22nd June.

We have plans to continue to support investment through our Local Football Facility Plans and the new Facilities & Investment Officer will play a major part in delivering this, ensuring Essex clubs and partners are able to access advice, support and funding. This includes assistance with grant applications and signposting to the local and national opportunities available.

Meanwhile, a Football Development Officer position has also become available to help enhance grassroots football provision, with a specific focus on the local authority areas of Basildon, Castle Point, Rochford, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock. The successful applicant will play a leading role in the improvement of grassroots football.

Facilities & Investment Officer

We've played an important role in strategically planning, developing and delivering facilities for grassroots football since The FA, The Premier League, Sport England and Government formed the Football Foundation in 2000.

To date, we have secured circa £33million to improve grassroots facilities for players, clubs, leagues and other football facility providers in the county. The National Football Facilities Strategy sets out to improve the following types of facilities: grass pitches, 3G football turf pitches, changing rooms and pavilions, small-sided spaces.

The new post-holder will be responsible for supporting the Head of Development & Investment. We are looking for someone who is passionate about grassroots football facilities and has the ability to work with a range of stakeholders to apply for funding and improve the facility stock across Essex. Applications are welcome until Wednesday 22nd June.

Football Development Officer

A Football Development Officer position has become available to help enhance grassroots football provision, in-line with the ambitious 2024 ‘Moving Forward’ Strategy.

We're looking for an influential and motivated new member of the Development Team to help develop projects which support clubs, leagues, volunteers and wider partners, with a specific focus on the local authority areas of Basildon, Castle Point, Rochford, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock. Applications are welcome until Wednesday 22nd June.

When identifying a suitable individual for the position, we will look for experience and knowledge of grassroots football and The FA’s National Game Strategy. An ability to manage a diverse work programme and multiple priorities is also a requirement, as well as good communication and project-planning skills. This vacancy is not a coaching role.

Both job descriptions can be found below. The closing date for these positions is Wednesday 22nd June. Please complete the Application Form and the ‘Section 12 Equality & Monitoring Form’ and return them via E-Mail to recruitment@essexfa.com.

We promote equality and diversity in employment and welcome applicants from all parts of the community.
