Essex Grassroots Heroes Can Become a Nationwide Award Winner

Nominations Open for ‘Mutual Respect’ Football Competition

FA Respect Programme partners, Nationwide, are giving nominees the chance of winning the ‘Grassroots Respect Hero’ trophy as a thank you for their contributions to making society more tolerant and inclusive.

Nominees could win one of the monthly ‘Mutual Respect Trophies’, which go to someone who's gone above and beyond to build mutual respect within local football. Nationwide’s panel of judges will decide the winner based on what the nominees have done to promote mutual respect, either on or off the pitch.

Anyone can nominate their child, their referees, officials, a parent helper or a club, and one nomination can be made every month. A previous winner last year was Ray Lee, who coaches young players in East London for Chigwell FC in the Echo Junior League.

You can nominate your child, their referees, officials, a parent helper or a club at via the Nationwide website here. You can make one nomination per month. Nominations close at 11:59pm on the 21st of each month.
