Women’s Euro 2022 is Inspiring and Uniting School Pupils

Essex Schools Can Join in With Special Football Activities

The UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 tournament in England is set to be the biggest European women’s sporting event ever, and schools can be a part of the action through a special programme which aims to inspire and unite pupils to get involved with the fun.

16 nations compete across ten venues, in nine cities, with the next generation at the heart of Euro 2022 celebrations. The programme gives teachers across the country access to a digital pack, consisting of free cross-curricular resources all themed around the Women’s Euros.

The resources, produced by an educational specialist who has worked closely with teachers to ensure they fit in with the school curriculum, feature an array of activities and tips. These include how to run a Euro-themed assembly to challenge packs consisting of 22 activities ranging across play, support and learn themes.

Pupils can fill out a tournament time journal as well as take on the roles of organisers, creating their own Fan Zone, all alongside football festival packs and take-home resources. Available for Key Stages Two and Three (but can be adapted for other age groups), they also include topics and themes such as literacy, maths, PE, culture, heritage and reading challenges.

Schools and teachers can sign-up now to access and download resources for free from this website. Information on participating in grassroots Essex football can also be found in the menus above, by following @EssexCountyFA on Twitter and by searching for ‘EssexFootball’ on Facebook.
