Aged 12-14 and keen to kickstart or continue your football journey? ‘Squad Girls’ Football’ sessions are just what you need!
It’s a fun, non-competitive way to play football locally with friends, old and new. Whether you’re completely new to the sport, are looking to transition from Weetabix Wildcats, or simply want to give it a go, Squad Girls’ Football is designed to help develop skills and build confidence, whilst encouraging girls to play their way.
Each Squad Girls’ Football session is centred around a specific theme, including everything from building team identity, to mastering technical skills. To keep sessions interesting and on-theme, they’re broken down into warm-up, first half, half time, second half and cool down and can include a mix of both walking and traditional-format football.
Squad Girls’ Football sessions are usually around one hour long, with 15-20 players participating in each session. Squad Girls’ Football programmes run for at least 16 weeks, with players able to attend as many or as few sessions as they wish.
Sessions are designed to help players improve their ability across many aspects of the game, from dribbling, tackling and passing to communication, confidence and leadership. Any girl aged 12-14 is welcome to join their local Squad Girls’ Football session and enjoy football in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Squad Girls’ Football is a great way for girls to stay healthy, be active, make friends and build confidence. A totally casual and flexible football option, you can join as few or as many Squad Girls’ Football sessions as you like - perfect for those wanting to just give football a go.
