The Essex County FA Regional Talent Club (RTC) have been granted a one-year extension on their current licence and, as a result, they’re currently accepting expressions of interest to trial for the Under 12s, 14s and 16s age groups for the 2022/23 season.

Committed and highly-driven female players are being invited to show the RTC they have the potential to join existing elite squads. The programme further extends on grassroots-level opportunities, and the open selection process enables any female player in these three age groups to demonstrate they have elite potential to access the FA Lioness Talent Pathway.

All RTC age groups train twice a week, with highly-qualified coaches. To support the increase in the training sessions, and to aid player development, the programme offers strength and conditioning sessions once a week as well as access to a physiotherapist. The trials will operate in two stages:

Open Trials: Where any player within the age groups outlined above, regardless of where they play and how long they’ve been playing, can showcase their potentially elite ability. Players, parents and carers can also gain a better insight of the Essex RTC’s aims and objectives. The trials will take place at Shrub End Community Sports Centre, Boadicea Way, Colchester, Essex, CO2 9BG.

Selection Trials: These will include players who have been shortlisted from the Open Trials, as well as any players from within the Regional Talent Club programme who have not been offered a player agreement for the new season. These trials will also take place at Shrub End Community Sports Centre, Boadicea Way, Colchester, Essex, CO2 9BG.
