Lockdown 3for3 Challenge

Essex’s #Lockdown3for3 Wellbeing Challenge

Kids Invited to Share ‘Physical Wellbeing’ Ideas

As part of our new #Lockdown3for3 competition, we're asking inspirational Essex youngsters to share stories of how they’re maintaining their physical and mental wellbeing during lockdown, and how they’re helping others.

Whether it’s a keepy-uppy or FA SuperKicks challenge, a football-themed Zoom quiz with team mates or involvement in an online event for charity, children in Essex are being invited to share one #Lockdown3for3 example each week on Twitter and Facebook to inspire others to keep active while spending more time at home. There will be a different category each week:

Week 1: Physical Wellbeing (from Monday 15th February) (Tweet Now)
Week 2: Mental Wellbeing and Mindfulness (from Monday 22nd February)
Week 3: Helping Others (from Monday 1st March)

Young players are invited to submit a different #Lockdown3for3 suggestion each week, in text, audio or video format, to show others how they’ve been keeping sharp during lockdown. Essex County FA Designated Safeguarding Officer, Helen Hever, is looking forward to seeing what’s posted.

She explained: “There have been a lot of brilliant examples of local children engaging in a positive way during lockdown to keep themselves physically and mentally active, and we really want to celebrate them. We’re following a different theme each week for three weeks and we thought it would be great to share the marvellous stories and talents.”

“Youngsters have been inspiring so many with their efforts to raise money or reach out and help those not so fortunate. You could send a video of your football skills, or an exercise routine you’ve put together.”

“Or you could send a message to other young people on what you did to cope with a difficult situation. There’s also the wonderful examples of young people looking out for others. It would be great to share and support everyone going through lockdown and not having the normal routine.”

“I can’t wait to see what the kids of Essex come up with, as there are some really inventive ideas out there. These are difficult times and that often brings out the very best in people. After the three #Lockdown3for3 categories are complete, we’re planning a compilation of the best tweets, Facebook posts and videos, so get your thinking caps on!”

Tweet your examples to @EssexCountyFA, interact with ‘EssexFootball’ on Facebook and send in your videos! If you’re tweeting, be sure to include the #Lockdown3for3 hashtag. The best suggestions will ultimately be featured on this website, too!
