BBC Essex Women's Cup Quarter-Finals Drawn
FA Women's National League Division One South East leaders, Billericay Town, face a tricky trip to Hashtag United Reserves in the Quarter-Finals of the BBC Essex Women’s Cup, following the broadcast of the draw on-air on Thursday (2nd December).
Town, who lead the way in their table with ten wins and a draw from eleven matches, head to face United, who earned their place in the last eight by virtue of a 5-2 home victory against Grays Athletic in the Third Round. The draw was shared on BBC Essex’s Fans Phone-In Show.
At this stage, four seeded teams from the Women's National and Eastern Region Women's Leagues joined the four Round Three survivors. BBC Essex’s Glenn Speller pulled out the home clubs and Robert Craven from the Essex County FA was responsible for the away teams.
Hashtag United’s First Team were also in the draw. Three points behind Billericay but with a game in hand, they begin their quest for County Cup glory by travelling to Leigh Ramblers, themselves victors by the odd goal in five at Blackmore Ladies.
Chelmsford City, 3-0 winners at home to Hutton in the last round, take on Bowers & Pitsea from the Eastern Region Premier Division. Harlow Town, who lifted the Essex Women’s Trophy in 2016, entertain Lawford Ladies. Lawford comfortably moved past Corinthians, 9-0 at home.
Those ties are all due to take place on Sunday 16th January, on this website you can stay up-to-date with the competition or find a local team to play for, by following @EssexCountyFA on Twitter and by searching for ‘EssexFootball’ on Facebook.
