Online Learning for Essex Clubs, Referees and Coaches
Grassroots referees can access a range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions and online learning content as part of an extended wealth of educational programmes on our YouTube channel.
There are many features on the channel, such as club development webinars, individual videos and longer-running features, which can be accessed via the ‘EssexFA’ portal. Referees are able to watch content relating to keeping fit at home, promotion, on and off-field communication, effective pre-match talks and transitioning from youth to adult football.
The YouTube channel providing access to online development from the comfort of your own home, at a convenient time. By visiting, coaches and volunteers can glimpse into popular courses such as FA Playmaker, plus educational support, while safeguarding, marketing, community engagement and funding videos are also included.
Plus, The FA have recently launched their own ‘FA Learning’ portal, which has been set-up to offer coaches a new way to brush-up on new ideas. Open to any coach, at any level, it provides a range of content across various ‘playlists’ and the activities are created by FA Education staff up and down the country, featuring interviews with leading coaches.
One of FA Learning’s features is the ‘Boot Room’ portal, where coaches can find interesting articles, interviews, ideas and resources. A wide range of football content is being shared to help support individuals to incorporate innovative practices into their sessions, developing both themselves and their players. The Boot Room also features additional learning, such as:
* In the Coaching section, more than 90 sessions, guides and top tips have been published which are all easily searchable. Select a topic you’re interested in and see relevant articles, sessions and guides.
* The Interviews area has insights from over 40 of the biggest names across football. While in the ‘Courses’ section, you can browse FA learning opportunities and find the next step on your coaching journey.
* There’s also a dedicated news page for coaching updates, and a new home for support initiatives such as the FA Coach Mentor programme, coach bursaries and Elite Coach Menteeship opportunities.
* The England DNA is also on the Boot Room. It’s easier than ever before to discover the coaching and playing principles which support all England teams.
