Special #CelebrateEssex ‘Key Worker’ Twitter Category

Let's Thank the Local NHS and Care Heroes Protecting Us Right Now

A special ‘Key Workers’ #CelebrateEssex category is saying thank you to NHS, care and vital staff connected to local football during May as we aim to secure extra recognition for grassroots stars via the @EssexCountyFA Twitter account.

Each month, #CelebrateEssex showcases profiles of local heroes, increasing their visibility as role models to engage new members and inspire them to become volunteers. As a special tribute this month, with the country responding to the Covid-19 pandemic, an invitation is being extended to anyone to tweet why someone they know from the grassroots community is due special praise.

The usual voting process won’t be staged this month, as we're keen to highlight every single extraordinary effort individuals are making to keep Essex safe during the challenges of the Coronavirus outbreak. These fantastic examples will then be shared on social media, and collected to feature in a ‘thank you’ article later in the month.

Keep up-to-date with the latest Covid-19 football details at www.essexfa.com/about/coronavirus, by following @EssexCountyFA on Twitter and by searching for ‘EssexFootball’ on Facebook. In June, the previously-scheduled ‘Chairperson’ category will resume the usual #CelebrateEssex competition, with ‘Secretary’ nominations now planned to take place in July.

Tell Us About Your NHS, Care or Key Worker Hero!

If you’d like to shout about an NHS, care or key worker connected to your club or league, or if there’s a referee you want to thank, please let us know before the end of May by tweeting:

“My #CelebrateEssex ‘Key Worker’ hero is [Insert Name and Twitter Username] from [Insert Club/League Twitter Username, or @EssexReferees] because…”

Be as descriptive as you can in 280 characters! It’s important to use the #CelebrateEssex hashtag to ensure your tweet is extra visible. Include a photo too, if you can. Thank you!
