Investigations Officer Vacancy

Investigations Officer Vacancy at the Essex County FA

Innovation, Initiative and Research Skills Required

An exciting Investigations Officer position has become available at our Chelmsford office as we seek an individual who can use innovation, initiative and research skills to help preserve and protect grassroots football and its participants.

We're responsible for overseeing, promoting and developing the local game and supporting The FA in delivering the National Game Strategy. We currently require an experienced investigator and a self-motivated individual with a passion for football to support its governance in Essex. Applications are required by Monday 16th September.

The successful candidate will work from the County Office and will be responsible for the investigation into, and processing of, misconduct through the application of The FA’s guidelines and regulations. They’ll manage and oversee the investigations process from the receipt of a report of misconduct through to a possible charge being raised.

This will involve liaising with the individuals, clubs, leagues and/or referees who have made a misconduct report or complaint, as well as those who are the subject of the investigation. This is in order to conduct a thorough investigation and be able to make a decision about whether a charge should be raised, and the appropriate charge type.

Support of all the other functions of the Governance Department will also be required, including affiliations, sanctioning, discipline, promoting FA IT systems and supporting clubs and leagues. The post requires a professional and highly-organised person with a track record of conducting investigations or research into sensitive issues, ideally within a football environment.

A job description can be found below. The closing date is 9:00am on Monday 16th September. Please complete the Application Form and the ‘Section 12 Equality & Monitoring Form’ and return them via E-Mail to recruitment@essexfa.com.

We promote equality and diversity in employment and welcome applicants from all parts of the community.
