Inclusion Advisory Group Relaunch

Leader Needed For Inclusion Advisory Group

Chairperson Required as Anti-Discrimination Group Returns

As part of the Essex County FA’s drive to encourage more participation from disability, ethnicity, faith and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) and female communities, a Chair is being sought for a voluntary Inclusion Advisory Group.

Dedicated individuals are encouraged to come forward before the first meeting of the re-launched group on Tuesday 31st October in Walthamstow. The County FA are looking for a committed and passionate candidate with a variety of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to help drive English football’s inclusion and anti-discrimination agenda forward.

In July 2015, the Essex County FA successfully achieved the ‘Preliminary Level’ of the Equality Standard for Sport, embracing an Anti-Discrimination Plan and continuing to work to address the key issues and the challenges which exist within the county. The purpose of the Inclusion Advisory Group is to provide advice and guidance and make recommendations to the Essex County FA Board on all equality matters.

County FA Chief Executive, Brendan Walshe, explained: “I am very proud of the work that my team have done over recent years, and being one of the first counties to have attained the Equality Standard is a valued achievement. So, if you think you can help drive our programme over the next few years, then I very much look forward to you applying to take up the challenge, and to possibly working with you in the future.”

The first meeting is at 6:00pm at Wadham Lodge in Walthamstow. Application details, and further information on local inclusion projects, can be found below. Applicants need to be available on Wednesday 29th November to attend IAG Chair Training at Wycombe Wanderers FC. Additionally, Cindi Chatha can be contacted on (01245) 393090 or via E-Mail at cindi.chatha@essexfa.com.
