Workshops, Insight and Support

How we're supporting coaches across essex

Across the season, we offer a range of face-to-face and online coaching events, providing localised support and learning opportunities for volunteer coaches.

Our offer compliments the formal England Football qualification pathway and is delivered by our team of experienced Coach Developers, as well as guest experts from partner organisations.

On the Pitch Workshops

Whether you're just starting out, or further into your coaching journey, these workshops have something for everyone. Open to individuals or groups of coaches, we'll demonstrate ideas and solutions for you to try back at your club, through practical activities.

Ideal if you'd like some new ideas, or if you just need a bit of a coaching 'recharge'. These workshops will be delivered in age phase categories to offer you more relevant support and guidance, for your context. We’ll be running workshops throughout the season, at various locations across the county.

Season-Long club offer

Our ‘Your Club’ programme provides in-house coaching support to grassroots clubs across Essex.

We understand the challenges clubs face around recruiting, developing and retaining their volunteer coaching workforce.

The 'Your Club' programme provides clubs with the opportunity to invest in the development of coaches - helping them to create more engaging and inspirational experiences. After an initial consultation with your club, we'll work with you to provide a season-long offer of workshops, designed to help meet the needs of your coaching workforce.

If you feel your club would benefit from this support, please contact our Coach Education Team.

Coaching theory and discussion

These events will cover a range of insights from a wider coaching perspective. Working with partners across the sector, including universities and professional clubs, our guest presenters will share their knowledge and expertise on a range of interesting topics.

At each event, the content will be linked to coaching within the grassroots game, helping you to add to your coaching toolbox. We'll build in time at every event for you to connect with fellow coaches, as well as opportunities to speak to our presenters and county staff.

Coach Developers

Our team of Coach Developers are responsible for delivering a range of coaching workshops and events, as part of our Coach Development Programme. These events are designed to support grassroots coaches to develop their skills and build confidence, to provide the best possible experience for players of all ages and abilities.

Each member of the team has extensive experience of working with adult learners and, most importantly, supporting coaches in a grassroots football environment. The ‘Role Profile’ can be found at the bottom of this page.

To ensure we continue to provide the best possible support to the volunteer coaching workforce, it’s important that we engage with talented individuals across the county who may aspire to be part of our future coach development workforce.
