Awesome local volunteers give so much, week in, week out, rain or shine. And they contribute their time and energy for the benefit of parents, coaches, clubs, leagues, fellow volunteers, match officials and more. We're asking for nominations for the 2025 Grassroots Football Awards to ensure they’re recognised.

It’s time for everyone across Essex to say thank you for everything volunteers do to make football happen. It’s quick and easy to nominate, and your thanks will mean the world. Essex football has an opportunity to pass on appreciation for volunteers within clubs through this year’s awards, which express appreciation to all the people and organisations who give their time.

This year, it’s easier than ever to nominate, and the more detail you give, the better. We want to highlight these amazing people nationally, celebrate them and say a huge thank you. You can now tell their story in a way you want, simply by detailing:

* what they do, and how it impresses you
* how they make a difference to others’ lives
* where they’ve had an impact in their community

Lana Gillard, Essex County FA Football Development Officer, is encouraging as many local nominations as possible, commenting: “We know there are countless volunteers who deserve recognition across the county, so we’re really encouraging nominations in all categories this year, to give our volunteers the praise they deserve.”
