Under 12s Cup Final Win for Hannakins Farm
Hannakins Farm (Blacks) lifted the Essex Under 12s Cup thanks to goals from Alfie Stevens, James Goodman and Levi Cooper against Frenford (Pumas) at the home of Hullbridge Sports FC.
Despite a promising start from Frenford, who had two chances in the first 15 minutes of the game, Stevens gave Hannakins Farm the lead in the 25th minute. The second half saw Goodman and Cooper add to the scoreline within just five minutes of each other to secure their team’s 3-0 victory in the final.
Hannakins had to wait 25 minutes for their first goal after a missed opportunity in the 16th minute. However, Stevens secured his team’s first-half lead with a brilliant shot inside the left-hand post, putting them up 1-0. They successfully retained this advantage until the half-time whistle.
There was frustration for Frenford in the second half as Stanley Noughton saw his dipping shot bounce off the top of the crossbar. Then Hannakins goalkeeper Charlie Brown denied another effort from Frenford, doing well to cling onto the ball on the line after a scramble.
Goodman was able to double his team’s lead, with his goal coming from a long throw in the 49th minute. Hannakins didn’t have to wait long for their third and final goal of the game, another long throw being deflected onto the crossbar and giving Cooper the chance he needed to secure his team’s comfortable victory.
