Squad Booster - Matching Players and Volunteers With Clubs!

Squad Booster is our online portal where you can browse live classified adverts and match yourself up with a club as a player or volunteer, plus teams who are struggling for numbers can also attract new faces by submitting new adverts.

Thousands of players and volunteers use Squad Booster to find regular football or voluntary activities at clubs. Squad Booster is pivotal to achieving one of our main goals - simply to get more people playing grassroots football in Essex. It’s easy to place an advert, and if your club flags their search for players or volunteers using the #SquadBooster hashtag on Twitter we’ll always help to amplify that message, too.

Once a form has been downloaded (see below), completed and received at info@essexfa.com, a classified-type advert is created and published in the AdultYouth or Volunteer categories and your local Football Development Officer is informed. Then, each month, a digest of all the latest adverts is collated and placed on the home page in the form of a news story, which is promoted on Twitter (@EssexCountyFA) and Facebook (EssexFootball).

In addition, the adverts in this digest will be sent to 200+ media contacts around the county and publicised with individual tweets and Facebook updates later in that month. Further down the line, each team will be contacted to see how the advert performed, to establish if it needs to be republished. Extra Squad Booster adverts can be found using the #SquadBooster hashtag on Twitter.

Is your club short of players or volunteers? Are you a player or volunteer looking for a team? A form is available to download below so you can advertise your requirements in front of thousands of potential new members. Adverts are also shared on Twitter by @EssexCountyFA using the #SquadBooster hashtag, and on Facebook by searching for ‘EssexFootball’.

Neil Blackburn (Laindon Orient FC): “I always advertise with Squad Booster and to date I’ve had a lot of players contact me. We’ve received many calls, including three about potential managers. Our best find to date has to be Anthony Hill. He moved down from Birmingham and, without Squad Booster, we would never have known about him.”

Peter Goodwin (Junior Bocas YFC): “We were a single team club. The first thing we noticed was hits on our website went up, then E-Mail and telephone enquiries. Due to the help of Squad Booster we now have Under 13s as well as Under 16s and have so many boys training we are looking at an extra side! We won’t be using it again for a while, though - we couldn’t cope with the response!”

Kieron Lee (Player): "#SquadBooster has worked a treat 4 me, found a decent team and a decent set of lads. Played my first friendly today! Cheers @EssexCountyFA"
