preparing for the season ahead

PRE-SEASON MONTH

July is our pre-season theme. Pre-season is a time where we are looking to prepare our players for the season ahead. There are many myths when it comes to how best to prepare your players. We all want to ensure this period of the season is safe, appropriate and engaging across all ages and formats.

Therefore, we have built a range of workshops to help you better navigate this time of the year, delivered by our dedicated pool of Coach Developers. Places on all of our workshops can be booked via the link to our website below. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Coach Developers
recognising core physical actions

DEVELOPING FOOTBALL FITNESS

This workshop highlights some simple and effective ways to build fitness into your programme, across the ages and formats. Who is it for? Coaches who are looking at developing a deeper understanding of 'fitness' and how it can be incorporated into training.

What can you expect? A showcase of safe and engaging fitness-related practices, as well as theoretical discussion around fitness to support delivery. What will the outcomes be? You'll be able to recognise core physical actions which relate to football. You will understand how different practice designs and manipulations bring about different physical returns and you'll highlight some best practice around managing load and pain. Join us at Parsloes Park in Dagenham on Tuesday 29th July from 6:00-9:30pm).

supporting a coach's understanding

MANY PRACTICES, MANY IDEAS

Develop your practice design ‘toolbox’! As volunteer coaches, we often have little time to effectively plan our sessions which, consequently, makes it difficult to then adapt them in the moment.

This workshop aims to support a coach’s understanding of practice design through highlighting a variety of practice shapes, manipulations and progressions/regressions, helping you to manage your own time more effectively but, also, to better support the needs of your players. Join us on Monday 19th August from 6:00-9:00pm at Moulsham High School in Chelmsford (CM2 9ES).

Coaches who would like support to ensure their session designs include players with a broad spectrum of impairments and health conditions to play together can attend on Monday 5th August from 6:30-9:30pm at Witham Town FC (CM8 1UN).
