GET INTO FOOTBALL

The Essex County FA's commitment to increasing volunteer numbers in grassroots football continued on August 8 with the launch of a new partnership with the Volunteer Centre.

The Volunteer Centre is a nationwide organisation and their Essex Association Vice Chairperson, Alison Semmence, sees the new partnership as an ideal avenue for people to get into football: "We try and encourage volunteers in all aspects of community life such as education, hospitals and the environment so we're delighted to get involved in sport and very pleased to be working with the Essex County FA."
Essex County FA Football Development Officer, Sharon Brownlie, added: "Increasing volunteer participation is high on our agenda this coming season and the Volunteer Centre will be helping us to spread our net far and wide as there are people out there who want to get involved in grassroots football and the Essex County FA are determined to give them that opportunity."

The partnership follows in the footsteps of the Essex County FA's Volunteer Index which sees local clubs advertise their voluntary positions on essexfa.com.
