THE ROLE
OF THE ASSOCIATION 2007-08 |
The Essex Referees Association is affiliated to the
national body of The Referees Association through the 13 Societies/Branches in
the county.
The main aims of the Association are to:
(a) Encourage all registered referees to become members.
| (b) Improve the status and standard of referees. |
| (c) Protect it’s members from injustice or unfair
treatment. |
| (d) Assist and take action legal or otherwise on behalf of
any member who has |
been unfairly treated.
(e) Promote the interests of referees in general.
Each society or branch holds a monthly meeting during the
season. At these meetings you will gain the experience of advice from Senior or
Premiership referees and to discuss any problems that you may have had during
your matches.
In-service Training sessions are also held in order to
improve your knowledge of the Laws of the Game and to help you progress to a
higher level.
The annual subscription to belong to the Association varies
around the different branches from £17 to £25 with a reduced fee for U18s. The
subscription includes membership of the National Referee Association, the Essex
Referees Association, the local Society/Branch and Personal Accident Insurance.
Once you have registered with the Association you will be
able to purchase referee kit and accessories at a competitive price from the
supplies section of The Referees Association or at your local Society/Branch.
The Essex Referee Association works closely with the Essex
County Football Association to ensure that matters which affect all referees are
discussed. The Football Association and the Essex County FA strongly recommends
that if you wish to progress in your refereeing it is essential that you become
a member of the Referees Association via the Essex Referees Association.
If you require further details of our Association do not
hesitate to contact the Secretary of the Essex Referee Association or your
nearest Society or branch as shown opposite
We look forward to welcoming you as a member.
