Silent Support Weekend

Silent Support Weekend Reaction

The national FA Silent Support Weekend was supported throughout Essex on the 5th and 6th November

The FA held their first National Silent Support Weekend across the weekend of the 5th and 6th November.

The Silent Support Weekend was a campaign that’s aim was to create an enjoyable and safe experience for all youth players, by taking away the noise and allowing them to develop their game through their own decision making. As well as individuals, it can also help to develop and improve the teams involved by allowing the players to encourage each other and build the bonds football can initiate.

Youth Leagues across Essex signed up and we’d like to thank the following leagues for their participation across the weekend:

  • Blackwater & Dengie Youth Football League
  • Brentwood Community Football Alliance Youth League
  • Colchester & District Youth League
  • Eastern Junior Alliance
  • Southend and District Junior Sunday Football League

There was a largely positive response from the leagues and clubs across Essex regarding the Silent Support Weekend.

The Essex FA have created Matchday Environment resources for clubs, players, coaches and spectators and all other participants so you can #PlayYourPart in continuing to create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable matchday environment #ForAll. These resource packs are available on our website and can be downloaded and shared so that all members of your clubs are aware on how to create the best possible matchday environment for all.
