Grassroots Football Roles Available to Support Local Strategy

Individuals with a keen interest in grassroots football are invited to apply for two job roles which will make an important contribution towards our 2024 #MovingForward Strategy.

Vacancies are currently being advertised for Facilities & Investment Officer and Football Services Officer positions at the County Office, which will feature a blend of home-working, by Monday 22nd August. The successful applicants will play a key part in servicing the local football community and developing participation opportunities.

Facilities & Investment Officer

A Facilities & Investment Officer position has become available within our team which, since 2000, has helped to secure circa £33million to improve grassroots facilities for players, clubs, leagues and other football facility providers in the county.

With our plans to continue to support investment through Local Football Facility Plans, the new member of our Development Team will play a major part in delivering this, ensuring Essex clubs and partners are able to access advice, support and funding.

The successful candidate will assist with grant applications and signposting to the local and national opportunities available. We're encouraging applications from strong graduates seeking a role in the sports industry, as well as submissions from candidates with transferable skills in stakeholder engagement and project management.

Football Services Officer

The successful candidate for the Football Services Officer role will support the delivery of the FA Grassroots Football Strategy and our Business Strategy, including aspects relating to discipline, investigations and affiliations.

They will assist in the efficient running of the Football Services Team, contributing to the effective implementation of The FA’s Safeguarding Operating Standard for County FAs. Adoption of FA technology systems across grassroots football will also be a feature, as will ensuring compliance with FA rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidance.
