Safeguarding Banner Competition

Designs Required for Football Safeguarding Competition

Winning Entries Will be Turned into Roller Banners

Know a player who rates themselves as a bit of an artist? Budding Banksy in your dressing room who you can’t stop doodling on the tactics board? We're currently running a #WeOnlyDoPositive competition for the best hand-drawn designs which could feature on a specially-created roll-up banner promoting safeguarding services.

Young players at any of the county’s boys’ or girls’ teams are welcome to submit colourful competition entries on social media to raise awareness of the facilities which are accessible to people aged under 18 who have concerns for the safeguarding or welfare of someone in grassroots football. Designs can be submitted until Monday 16th March.

Entries need to be as bright as possible, ideally on a white background, and in portrait orientation. The winning design/s will be made into a 80cm x 200cm roll-up banner. They’ll also receive a £50 kit and equipment voucher and tickets to the BBC Essex Senior Cup Final where, if timescales permit, their creation will be on display! Entries need to include the following details:

* Essex County FA
* safeguarding@essexfa.com
* If you're under 18 and have concerns for the safeguarding or welfare of someone in grassroots football, contact your Club or League Welfare Officer.
* Helen Hever: helen.hever@essexfa.com or (01245) 393098
* Chloe Hookins: chloe.hookins@essexfa.com (01245) 393093
* NSPCC Helpline: (0808) 800 5000 or help@nspcc.org.uk
* The FA: safeguarding@thefa.com

Helen Hever, Essex County FA Welfare Officer, explained: "Be creative! We're looking for something really eye-catching to young people with a football theme. It needs to be simple, but also contain all of the vital information. I’m looking forward to seeing what the young people of Essex have designed, and I can’t wait to look at the finished banners!"

Please submit your player’s designs on Twitter or Facebook, tagging the Essex County FA and using the #WeOnlyDoPositive hashtag. You can interact with @EssexCountyFA on Twitter and search for ‘EssexFootball’ on Facebook. Submissions can also be accepted via E-Mail at info@essexfa.com. The entry deadline is Monday 16th March.
