88 match officials were rewarded for their performance and commitment throughout the season when they found out which matches they’d been allocated to at the Essex County FA Cup Final Appointments Evening on Monday 10th February.

Select Group 2 Referee, Tim Robinson, who regularly covers matches in the Championship, gave a well-received presentation on personal development at the event at Chelmsford City FC. Then County FA Referee Development Officers, Lukas Wood and George Lowe, revealed this season’s highly-anticipated County Cup Final appointments.

“Selection was incredibly difficult as there was a huge number of referees to choose from,” Wood explained. “A great deal of commitment has been shown by these individuals throughout the season. They’ve displayed high performance levels to earn these appointments, which were assigned according to the type of game that they referee.”

Lowe added: “It’s a privilege to be able to present our best-performing officials with a County Cup Final appointment, which is a deserved reward for everything they do. A cup final is a magical occasion for everyone involved, including the officiating team, and they deserve these accolades. Hopefully they’ll be able to enjoy more as their careers develop.”
