Saturday Premier Cup Semi-Final Draw

Title Contenders Paired Together In Saturday Premier Cup Draw

Kelvedon Hatch Host Buckhurst Hill, Hutton Meet Catholic United

Two all-ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Premier Division ties were generated as the draw for the BBC Essex Saturday Premier Cup Semi-Finals was broadcast live from the station’s Chelmsford studios on Wednesday 13th February.

All the remaining clubs are proudly representing the Olympian League’s top flight in a bid to reach this year’s final at Billericay Town’s AGP Arena on Wednesday 10th April. Kelvedon Hatch host Buckhurst Hill in one Semi-Final, while Catholic United travel to Hutton in the other.

2015 winners Hatch, in fourth place with games in hand, won 2-1 at Galleywood in the last round and their reward is an intriguing clash at home to fellow title contenders Buckhurst Hill, who are currently top of the table having played a further game less. They came back from a long trip to Alresford Colne Rangers as 4-3 victors to reach this stage.

Mid-table Hutton emerged past Rayleigh Town in an epic encounter on penalties after a 4-4 draw. They now entertain Catholic United, a side sitting in the top six of the Premier Division who won 2-0 at Tiptree Heath in the Quarter-Finals.

Helping with the proceedings on the Wednesday Sport Show were two special guests. Mark Wallis, from the Essex County FA Cups & Competitions Department, pulled out the home clubs, while BBC Essex’s Nick Alliker was responsible for the away sides.

Those ties are scheduled to take place on Saturday 9th March, and all the competition details you need to know can be found here, by following @EssexCountyFA on Twitter and by searching for ‘EssexFootball’ on Facebook.
