Is your team’s grassroots football coach enthusiastic, organised and keen to learn? They could be worthy of a nomination for the latest category of our #CelebrateEssex volunteer awards via the @EssexCountyFA Twitter account.

#CelebrateEssex promotes inspirational personal examples and stories, encouraging new faces to get involved in the beautiful game and grow the grassroots community. Once nominations close on Friday 15th February, a group will be selected for a Twitter poll to identify the monthly hero, who’ll receive a prize and extra public plaudits.

February is the month of the ‘Coach’ category. A good grassroots football coach leads by example, communicating clearly and demonstrating organisation and enthusiasm. They're approachable, never making excuses. They're hungry to learn new skills and improve themselves so they can engage their players during training and matches. Those players always come first.

#CelebrateEssex has been very popular so far, with hundreds of nominations and thousands of votes since it was launched in March 2018. February marks the twelfth month of the competition, which will take a short break and resume in the summer.

Stage One: Make Your Nomination on Twitter

If you know a Coach who you think should receive some special thanks, anyone can make a nomination by tweeting (by 15th February):

“I nominate [Insert Name or Twitter Username] from [Insert Club/Team or Twitter Username] as @EssexCountyFA #CelebrateEssex Coach because…”

State why your nominee should be the winner and be as descriptive as you can in 280 characters! It’s important to use the #CelebrateEssex hashtag to ensure your entry is registered.

Stage Two: Nominations Reviewed

Once the window closes, all the nominations received will be collated and a panel will decide which individuals will be progressed to the Twitter poll/vote...

Stage Three: Let Voting Commence!

A Twitter poll/vote will be available at @EssexCountyFA for seven days, featuring profiles of the nominees so voters can make an informed decision on who to vote for.

Stage Four: And Our Winner Is…

The winner of the poll will be contacted to be that month’s ‘Volunteer of the Month’, who’ll receive a prize plus promotional activities to celebrate their work.
