Development Officer Vacancy at the Essex County FA

We required a driven and passionate individual to fill a Football Development Officer vacancy within Essex’s five London Boroughs and deliver the strategic development of all forms and formats of the game.

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to increase participation and making the game available to all, developing adult, youth, male, female and disability football, mini-soccer and Futsal in the local authorities of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest. Applications are required by Tuesday 2nd April.

Implementation of elements of our 2017-21 ‘Moving Forward’ Strategy and the FA National Game Strategy will be required, based at the Association’s Chelmsford Office. The new Development Officer will ensure links are in place between affiliated and recreational pathways as well as developing strong relationships with clubs and leagues.

Employment is on a fixed-term contract until June 2019 (continuation of post subject to funding). The new employee will join a highly-regarded Development Team, reporting to the County Development Manager. This vacancy is not a coaching role.

When identifying a suitable individual for the position, we will look for a university graduate (or similar) who is able to communicate with a wide range of partners. Other requirements are at least two years of experience of working within sports development and an ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate programmes.
