Could You Develop Football Opportunities in London Boroughs?

Could you deliver the strategic development of all forms and formats of football in Essex’s five London Boroughs? A suitable individual is required to help increase participation and make the game available to all as we invite applications for our Football Development Officer vacancy.

Responsibilities include developing adult, youth, male, female and disability football, mini-soccer and Futsal in the local authorities of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest. They’ll ensure links are in place between affiliated and recreational pathways as well as developing strong relationships with clubs and leagues. Employment is on a fixed-term contract until June 2019 (continuation of post subject to funding).

The post-holder will be responsible for implementing elements of our 2017-21 ‘Moving Forward’ Strategy and the FA National Game Strategy, based at our Chelmsford Office. The new employee will join a highly-regarded Development Team, reporting to the County Development Manager. This vacancy is not a coaching role.

When identifying a suitable individual for the position, wewill look for a university graduate (or similar) who is able to communicate with a wide range of partners. Other requirements are at least two years of experience of working within sports development and an ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate programmes.
