Here is an outline as to what is considered a technique, how and why it develops
into a skill and finally progresses to a 4 v 4 small-sided game.
Technique
A technique is a basic building block of football. For example, a technique is
when a player is able to pass and run with the ball, turn, dribble, or use
different surfaces to control the ball etc. The more opportunities the player
has to practice these techniques the more adept they will hopefully become.
Skill
A skill is when a technique is used successfully whilst under pressure from an
opposing player. For example, a player might be able to execute various turns
with the ball in isolation, but can still have a successful outcome whilst under
pressure.
4 v 4 Small-Sided Game
The theme then continues into a 4 v 4 small-sided game. Within the game you can
utilise other players, who can be used as target players, servers or floating
players. |
