COACHING & AFFILIATION 2008

THE PROCESS BEGINS !

While the sound of leather on willow reverberates around the County's cricket pitches and strawberries are carefully selected for the tennis at Wimbledon, the summer months offer no respite at the Essex County F.A. with a three-pronged launch of their new coaching courses, club affiliations and bi-annual Magazine.

Over forty courses have been fixed across the County, ranging from the preliminary F.A. Level One through to First Aid for Sport and range from weekend classes through to a full week's tuition. Organiser Simon Thomas is anticipating the customary high demand for places to begin soon: "We are advertising our widest range ever, including medical courses, child welfare workshops and, as always, the Level One and Level Two. With Essex being such a large County for football, we always have a very high demand for all of our coaching courses. The quickest and easiest way to enrol is via our Website [www.essexfa.com] where all the details are advertised and a Booking Form can be downloaded."

Meanwhile, the process of re-registering clubs ready for the 2008/09 campaign is underway, with a 1st July deadline to be hit for affiliation for the coming season. Forms have been dispatched to the County's 1,600-strong membership who, along with Essex's referees, competitions and coaches, also received the Summer 2008 edition of E.C.F.A. Magazine.

This issue is defined by the cover story, the Colchester United F.C. departure from their famous Layer Road home as they embark on their move to a brand new Community Stadium. Stalwart midfielder Karl Duguid gave Editor Chris Evans one last look around their old home. Also included is a round-up of the F.A. Strategy for 2008-2012, the County Cup competitions' climax as well as revelations from the local grassroots club who boast an Iron Maiden legend in their humble squad!

Free copies of E.C.F.A. Magazine can be obtained by sending name and address details to info@essexfa.com, while stocks last. Applicants will then qualify for another free service, the new 'Row-Z' E-News Bulletin set to launch in the summer months.
