CHARTER STANDARD

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 
At the recent meeting of The FA Football Development Committee the following changes to the Charter Standard Club programme were agreed.
 
     
Current Charter Standard Clubs

All Club / Child Welfare Officers must have completed the FA CRB process by May 1st 2006 - All Club members with direct access to children must have completed the CRB Process by August 1st 2006.

Any clubs who have not completed the above will have their FA Charter Standard Status suspended until the process is complete. This will mean that any benefits of FA Charter Standard will be withdrawn.

From January 2006 the JTM (Junior Team Managers Award) will not be recognised for any club renewing its Charter Standard

New / Potential Charter Standard Clubs

From August 06 any new Charter Standard Club must have the Club/Child Welfare Officers FA CRB submitted before CSC award - From Jan 2007 any new club must have submitted FA CRB forms on all volunteers with unsupervised access to young people - From August 2007 the Junior Team Manager Award will not be recognised for any new clubs applying to be a Charter Standard Club
  
 
What are the Disciplinary reasons why a Club could lose, or not be awarded Charter Standard ?

The Charter Standard Working Party will consider the following criteria when assessing new applications or the removal of Charter Standard.

1) Any club found guilty of assault on a referee or assistant, by a player, official or spectator in the last three years will not be considered for the awards. Any subsequent offence would lead to the withdrawal of the award;

2) Any club not found to be positively supporting The Football Association's anti-racism campaign will lose or will not be awarded Charter Standard;

3) Any club found guilty of spectator misconduct on two occasions by The Football Association will be invited to meet with the Charter Standard Committee who have the authority to issue a formal warning, which could lead to removal on further notice;

4) Any club found guilty of official misconduct on two occasions by The Football Association will be invited meet with the Charter Standard Committee who have the authority to issue a formal warning, which could lead to removal on further notice;

5) Any club that reaches * disciplinary points (as described in County F.A. Memorandum), will be invited to meet with the Charter Standard Committee, who will have the authority to warn as to future conduct, or request that the Football Association remove the Charter Standard from the whole club;

* At present each county sets its own points level, after which time clubs are in breach of County F.A. memorandum. Please refer to the County F.A. Handbook.
