
Level 1 Goalkeeping Course
Course Duration: 27 hours, Minimum Age: 16
Candidates are required to hold a valid Safeguarding Children and Emergency Aid Certificate to attend this course.
Course Objectives
On completion of the course, the competent coach will be able to:
- coach basic individual techniques
- understand how to develop and improve goalkeepers’ techniques
- plan and prepare progressive technical practices
- maintain the health and safety of the players and other coaches
- maintain high standards of conduct to promote Association Football

- The “Set” Position
- General Handling Techniques
- Diving Saves - Catching/Deflecting/Parrying
- Dealing With 1v1
- Dealing With Crosses

One x 15-minute session: technical practice
